This past tuesday I had the opportunity to bowl on the PBA Shark pattern. All I gotta say is "WOW". My first game I fished around to see what line would work best for me and what ball. I started with my XXCEL particle and tried going up 15 which worked okay. Then I tried going up 10 and forget about it. I then tried my "BIG ONE" and tried the same 2 lines and going up 15 definitely worked much better for both balls. However I liked the look I was getting with the XXCEL at first. After fumbling around in the first game I ended with a 141.
Game 2 was better. I started off with a real ugly split. Then i went the rest of the way with either a 9 count or a strike. I missed a 10 pin and a 6 pin and ended with a 156. I slowed my feet down a little to much to compensate for not throwing the ball to fast and I think that was hurting my timing and release. But i was pleased with what i was doing.
Game 3.....pretty much of the same all 9 counts or strikes. A few dumb misses on my part but I was getting comfortable. I also swithced to "THE BIG ONE" at this point as well to see the different reaction after 2 games and a little breakdown. I liked the reaction, so i stuck with it. At this point I'm still going pretty much right up 15. I end up with a 179.
I was going to quit after 3, but I wanted another go. So, i go ahead for a 4th game and shot a 206. Probably the proudest 200 of my life. After doing this I can't wait for the PBA league to start. This will definitely help your skills and accuracy. There was absolutely no forgiveness out there. If you missed right you could pretty much say good bye because it was not coming back. Not that i don't have a huge amount of respect for the pros already.....but I gained so much more after bowling on this pattern. You can really appreciate their talent when you bowl on something other than a house shot. I highly recommend this for everyone.
